Homecoming Scotland Weekend 25th – 27th September 2009

Boomerang Back to Chalmers

The   second  weekend  of   our   Homecoming   programme  will held on  the  last  weekend  in  September  Friday  25th  to Sunday 27th

As it is our Harvest Thanksgiving, our Church will be decorated and open on Saturday afternoon as well as Sunday. There will be a guest speaker at the Sunday morning service from Edinburgh City Mission, and Musselburgh Trades Band will be at the evening service. A lunch will be available after the morning service.

Preston Lodge School Band will be performing a concert on Friday evening. More details will follow in intimations and on posters around the village.

On the Saturday, we hope to have a repeat of the successful fun day, with games, crafts and face painting all in the hall between 2p.m and 4.30 p.m. During this time, tea and coffee will be available and tours of the Church, talks on old and modern farming methods and some insights into the use of coal in our community will hopefully be arranged.

A ceilidh with ‘The Spirit of Roslin’ starts at 7.30p.m on Saturday 26th, tickets will be available from Sunday 6th September - donation £5.00 each. Do come to as much as you can and please use this opportunity to invite neighbours to see another side of Chalmers! If there are children, come with them to the sports afternoon, adults are welcome too. Have your neighbours seen the inside of the church? This is a good opportunity to invite them not just to the ceilidh but to the services and lunch. It would be great if the weekend could truly be the start of a homecoming for someone you know."
